There are many companies that have had better growth than IBM has over the last decade, but I would be hard pressed to name a company that has done better for shareholders. IBM has consistently outlined a long term plan to focus on higher margin businesses, and to return cash to shareholders through increasing dividends, and buying back stock. This is not a company that develops a 5 year plan every 2 years like some other large cap technology companies, but instead it is a company that stays the course. I think there are more attractive stocks to buy right now but if IBM were to drop I’d love to be a buyer.
